do you hear the people sing?

I've finally started reading Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling. It took a bit too long, but fortunately I'm now reading it. However, the book is very short, so reading it will not take many days. The book is a sweet little fairy-book, and I love dreaming my self into the world of Rowling, yet again...

Anyhow, the past few days have been rather busy. A lot of meetings, school work, trip out of town, and reading. I'm listening, and have listened a lot, to Les Miserables and tears streams down my face. The musical is wonderful, and the lyrics are so strong and with hope and bravery. When I hear "One day more" I just want to go and fight with them! I know it sounds a bit weird, but it's true. During the final, when I saw the musical in London a couple of years ago, all I wanted was to run down to the stage and join the fight. I'm a dreamer indeed.

I have done some of my 09's resolutions this month. I bought my self a hat. And I have jumped, cried and yelled of happiness. And felt the wind in my hair. I also found a superduperultrasweet purse with the cutest lock - an old clock!
This past few days have been rather busy, as I said. But, nevertheless, I have had a wonderful time. Drunk a lot of lovely tea. Listened to lovely songs. Skiing. Read sweet books and novels. Organized my bookshelf by colour (I love changing weird things, and the funny thing is that I'm the only one who can see the difference.). Tonight I'm going to see Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulin with my mom. I was ashamed of her not having seen it yet...
The Rose Family
~ Robert Frost
The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple's a rose,
And the pear is, and so's
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only know
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose--
But were always a rose.’
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments!

I too get roused up with emotion when hearing certain songs.

That bag is to die for - I love finding things like that, the perfect romantic colour and that lock is just the perfect touch. I love it and am so happy you found it!

it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again...

I'm reading "The House of Mirth" by Edith Wharton. Strangely enough it felt a bit like watching Gossip Girl at first - I bet they've borrowed a lot, even names!! Then there were suddenly remarks on "jews" and their "race"...... made me throw the book on the floor. Got me thinking - can a book be "more" worth reading than derogatory, and can I stand it? ...haven't picked it back up yet.

Les Miserable is a wonderful story, and revolution is a very human impulse, sure to strike a chord in anyone's heart. The book is worth reading as well, though more harrowing.

I love that first picture. I really need to read the Tales of Beedle the Bard--I used to have a minor Harry Potter obsession. Les Miserables is amazing, too!

When I first saw the title of this post I immediately thought of Les Miserables, I sang a lot of the music from that show last year in my music classes. The lock on that bag is so interesting! I really like your blog, would you want to exchange links?

I read the Tales of Beedle and the Bard, not that long ago, and the decided that I was going to read it to my future children instead of regular fairy tales, so that hopefully they could go to hogwards. :P.
