i'm already gone

" I bought a cactus. A week later it died. And I got depressed, because I thought, Damn. I'm less nurturing than a desert"
~ Demetri Martin, NY Magazine
I couldn't have said it better my self. Cactuses hate me.

Finally my exam in Italian is finished. I'm feeling like a free bird. I feel like I'm at the top of the world. All I want to do is jump on the first plane out of Norway. It isn't long until the summer holidays. Can't wait. A friend of mine and I are going to Edinburgh in the middle of August, and the tickets are payed for. Now the major problem is to find a place to stay the five nights we are going to be there. It seems like the whole city is fully booked. I'm thinking of selling my self to someone on eBay with the header " Two girls to do your dishes for some days in Edinburgh. We do also clean bathrooms and are able to tell juicy gossip from Norway ". I'm pretty sure every single person in Edinburgh will make an offer on that one...

I hate to be in this situation. Maybe we can sleep under a bridge or something, or in a tent in some kinda park... Yey!

Congrats on feeling free!!
Aww don't sell yourself on Ebay.

My little flowers packed their bags and left today :-/
Still, pretty good to last 2 weeks AFTER they were almost thrown away by supermarket...

That second picture is so adorable!

And don't worry, you'll find somewhere to stay~ there really are sites online where you can offer to do chores or something in return for a place to crash haha

THat's interesting, because the first plant that didn't die instantly in my presence was a cactus. After that, I felt like I had a real affinity for cacti, and raised them diligently. Finally, a year or two after buying my first real house in my adult life, I've been able to grow (and maintain, messily) garden flowers. My cactus garden - I'm not sure why - has died since I started raising flowers. Where's the justice? I feel like I have been unfaithful to my cacti.

I'm trying to remember where I stayed in Edinburgh. Have you tried the hostels there? They usually don't get booked this far ahead and you can always go for a private room if you don't want to do it dorm-style...

The colors in that top photo are amazing. And that quote is something I sadly identify with. I can see my two dead cacti from my desk here.
Sometimes, though, if you leave them long enough they come back to life. True story.
