the hidden stories

There is something with books that fascinates me. Not the fact that they contain wonderful and unbelievable stories, complex and fascinating characters, and that they take place in countries far far away. I am fascinated by the fact that there are people, like me, who read the books and in their way they make their vision or picture of the stories. We can't, in any way, understand the way a book affects the reader. Therefore I find the bookshelves so fascinating and also so very inspiring . They contain stories that never will be exposed to the public, just the one who reads the book. It's in a way a magical boundary around the books and the bookshelves, which keeps the stories safe and untuched.
And, I must say, that I'm craving for a nice and inspiring bookshelf at home. I've tried to combine different colours in the different shelves, and I've tried to make my bookshelf a bit more personal. These photos of bookshelves give me inspiration to make my bookshelf even more personal.

We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance

ballet dancer at steps, NYC - Matt Sundin

i find a lot of inspiration in the move of dance. dancers have such an elegance and subtleness, and they move graciously and gently. especially the elegance is what makes me calm, and gives me a feeling of completeness. the beautiful tutus and tight corsets is a timeless source to inspiration.
Nicole Poree - Zayas worked with the designer Jillan Lewis and helped him making costumes for A Two Part Affair at the Guggenheim Museum in 2008. photos by Richard Termine.

it takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer
- shanna LaFleur

in a dancer, there is a reverence for such forgotten things as the miracle of the small beautiful bones and their delicate strength

summer breeze

it's turning into autumn. suddenly the rain has decided to come back after a summer filled with sun and good weather. the thermometer has turned it's will against me yet another time, and started showing lower degrees than one could imagine. it's soon time for jeans, wollen sweaters and socks, tea and a cashmere scarf. however, it's still some hints of summer in the air. and it's still allowed to dream of and feel the last summer breeze playing with your tanned skin and giving life to your sun bleached hair.
i dream of the french riviera, of St. Tropez, Nice and Cannes, of wine and good food. Of festivals and wellies. I'm trying to keep the good summer feeling as long as possible, as the day becomes darker and shorter every minute. That's how I cope.

here comes the sun

i know it's a little late for glastonbury, but what the heck! it's still summer. and still, when the summer soon is a vivid memory, i want to just pull on some big skirts, huge hats and wellies. oh how i adore the festivals, the music, the people, the parties, the atmosphere.

and all the unique and very inspiring ladies and lads, walking around and making this world a better place. (or maybe the festival area a better place. ) anyway, give me some indie rock ( i recommend Casa Murilo, for those who are interested), a little sun, a little rain and bottle, and i'm ready!

and yes, i'm back. i don't know for good, but i have to many thoughts in my head and to much inspiration - i just had to get it out

party all over the place

I'm lost in the big and overwhelming ocean of books, academia and uni.
it's just too much of everything. I'm sure many of you know the feeling.
there's no party like a 1000 pages - party!

But, it's in a way ok. I'm leaving for London on Monday and staying there until Thursday
then I'll be home for three days, and then i'm off to Germany.
and after that, back to England and Bristol.
oh the joy!
So, if anyone of you have any good tips on what to do in Bristol, I'll be very grateful.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living

this little light of mine

the pastel, the grey, the black.
they are all reminding me of the coming season of warmer weather and less clothes.
just a shame I'm living in the country with snow from July to July, just my luck.
anyway, I'm planning on soon dressing more lightly. I'm so ready to throw the big woolen coat and scarves. They have indeed been dear friends, but now I hope it's finally time to break up.

In need of finding more to read and more places to be inspired, I found Park & Cube. I know I have been away from the blogsphere for too long, because this beauty of a blog has not been on my list - until now.
The blogger is a graphic design graduate from Central Saint Martins, and her blog my fav at the moment.
Just so you know.

it's all about

it's all about that one piece of clothing you choose to fulfill an outfit.

i'm planning on making a scarf similar to this one

the shoes
the jewelry
the scarf

I strongly believe that it's all about that one piece of art.
it's all about that one thing that completes an outfit.
it's all about that special adding,
a small and tiny thing can change everything.
an outfit can go from dull to fab just by adding that small object.
